Marisela Padilla is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 6 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in various treatment settings. Marisela specializes in working with individuals who have been impacted by trauma, domestic violence, and substance abuse. She has experience treating a wide range of clinical issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, family conflict, emotional problems, unresolved grief, parenting difficulties, and adjustment issues.
Marisela has received training in various treatment modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), schema therapy, and motivational interviewing. She is Phase I certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based treatment that uses eye movements to process trauma. Marisela is also trained in Brainspotting and recognizes the importance of using mindfulness-based interventions in her work with clients.
Through the years, Marisela has found her work deeply rewarding and continually strives to better meet her clients’ varying needs in therapy. Marisela values a collaborative, client-centered approach that focuses on empowering clients so that they can not only alleviate emotional pain but also find meaning and fulfillment in their lives. In her free time, Marisela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, working out, and creating art. She is dedicated to her own personal growth and practices daily meditation and journaling.
